DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec 20, 2022--

Texas Music Project, a non-profit that raises funds and awareness for music education programs serving disadvantaged youth in Texas, donated more than 100 musical instruments to enrich Music Therapy Programs at Children’s Hospitals throughout Texas. Recipients of the instruments include Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, and Children’s Medical Center Plano. Among the instruments donated was a Yamaha electric piano from the award-winning rock band Coldplay, made possible through Live Nation.

“This Texas-sized donation effort is a Christmas gift that will make a positive impact on countless young peoples’ lives and is the perfect way to celebrate the start of our 20 th anniversary,” says Michael Clay, founder, and executive director of Texas Music Project. “As a lifelong musician, this opportunity is a perfect way to share my passion and put smiles on the faces of kids in need.”

Texas Music Project’s Music Heals Program was created to help disadvantaged children who need inspiration to succeed in life. The Program started in 2013 as a benefit concert for 1,800 children and families of fallen soldiers. Today, donations are gifted to Children’s Hospitals’ Music Therapy Programs to improve health and resiliency of young patients through the healing power of music.
